My girls adore animals and can never get enough of playing. So when I heard ZooMoo was having their Big Day Out at The Parenthood Sunway Pyramid, there was no way we were gonna miss it. I’ve watched the ZooMoo shows on Astro with the girls and from a child’s point of view, it’s genius. It’s just all animals, all the time! But for an adult, I have to warn you that two straight hours of ZooMoo may leave you brain dead.
Thank the gods of ZooMoo that we made it out of the house, early on a Saturday morning, with hairs combed (me) and without anyone crying (kids). We’d never been to (or heard of) The Parenthood before but when we arrived there, we were astounded. The girls were scurrying about, squealing “Waahhh! Waahhh!”. Too bad the Mr and I were masquerading as mature adults or else we’d have done the same. Imagine an entire floor of anything and everything parents need and kids love. Actually, don’t strain your imagination. Go check it out.
The girls were chomping at the bit to be let loose inside the Parenthood Playland but we had to settle a small technical issue first. Note to self: BYOS (Bring Your Own Socks). Luckily the Playland is well prepared for the forgetful/first timers and we were able to purchase some quickly. And then it was Go Time!
I may or may not have gone on that big rainbow slide. *cough* More than once *cough*. Each time, the girls would zoom past me and then cheer me from below. “Come on, Mummy! Faster!” Damn, I don’t know how they handle speed like that with such ease. My stomach was flying up to my throat and my bum was getting stuck to the sides. Tears of laughter were streaming down my face.
While the kids were going crazy with the Mr running after them, I escaped into the Birthday Party Room (it has magical powers to turn you into your child’s superhero if you have their parties here). There was an interesting parenting panel discussion on Has the digital era taken my child hostage? The panelists were lively and astute but I couldn’t help wishing there was a man on the panel to provide a dad’s point of view.
By the time lunch hour approached, all of us had worked up a ferocious appetite and the LilliPilli restaurant didn’t disappoint. For once I didn’t have to cajole the kids to finish up their food. Especially when they saw the ZooMoo themed dessert bar. Fueled up, the kids were rearing to go to the Playland once more but the Mr and I were knackered (see how I sneakily tried to sound all British there? Heh).
There were other activities going on, which we skipped; meet the ZooMoo characters (too scared), and origami and puppet workshops (too energetic to focus). Instead, we diverted their attention to simpler crafts lined up near the shops and preschool.
It’s not easy to find something that everyone enjoys but we had zero complaints all around on this one. Major success! The next time we come here, I think I’ll sneak off to the in-house beauty salon. I’m sure the three of them won’t even notice I’m gone 😉
